The election of Prof. Mwinyihija as a president of ICT came at the right time, following the recommendation of the Council of Ministers (The 3rdMeeting of the Ministerial Committee on Industry- June 2019, Nairobi, Kenya; 40thMeeting of the Council of Ministers, November 2019, Lusaka, Zambia), for ALLPI to become knowledge-based institution.
ALLPI started to setup a new platform that will enhance interactions between knowledge adoption and dissemination (diffusion)to support the process of innovation which can enhance the productivity, quality and competitiveness of leather industry in ALLPI participating countries and the continent at large.
The representation of Africa in the ICT top management will also enhance the visibility of the Africa leather sector potential to the wider global arena.
